Multiple award-winning engineer, Ing. Justice Ohene-Akoto has been nominated for Innovation Project of the Year and Digitalisation Project of the Year at the 5th Ghana Energy Awards.
This comes after he received several global recognitions including the Best Student Paper Award of the 2021 International Conference of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the World Congress on Engineering 2021 held in London, United Kingdom.
The awards gala comes off on 19th November 2021 at the Labadi Beach Hotel under the theme, “Digitalised Energy Sector: The Key for a Resilient Economic Future”.
Last year, Ing. Ohene-Akoto was crowned Rising Star at the 4th edition of the Ghana Energy Awards held at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra.
He emerged the winner out of the seven nominees in the category.
Before then, he had received a number of awards which includes the Forty Under 40 Award at the Kempinski Hotel, Accra.
In May of the same year, the brilliant engineer was appointed a Future Energy Leader (FEL-100) at the World Energy Council.
At the World Energy Council, he will be working with colleague energy professionals across the globe to find sustainable solutions to issues of climate change and energy challenges facing modern society, with the overarching and interdependent objectives of humanizing energy and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
As an industry player and a researcher, he helps bridge the gap between these sectors.
The Ghana Energy Awards aims to recognise the efforts, innovation and excellent stalwarts within the energy sector and celebrate the tremendous work of players nominated under various categories of the award.
Who is Ing. Justice Ohene-Akoto?
Ing. Ohene-Akoto owns an innovation patent in electric vehicles and coronavirus transmission prevention systems with the Australian and German governments respectively.
He has served as a member of the Technical Committee and Reviewer for some Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) international conferences in Peru, India, etc…
The engineer has several publications in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences.
His publications span the areas of wind energy, electrical transformers, cost of unserved energy, solar energy, briquettes, e-mobility, etc.
Ing. Justice Ohene-Akoto is also the Co-Founder of Maiseville Groupe Company Limited.
